The Denver Nuggets were founded in 1967 under the name Denver Rockets and were one of the founding members of the ABA. During the ABA era, the Nuggets won three championships. After the merger of the ABA and NBA, the Nuggets moved to the NBA in 1979. The arena for the franchise's home games is the Pepsi Center in Denver.
