"Le Club de Hockey Canadien" was founded in 1909 and is one of the founding members of the league, along with the Montreal Wanderers, Ottawa Senators and Quebec Bulldogs. They are also one of the so-called "Original Six" teams. With a total of 24 Stanley Cup victories, the Canadiens are the most successful franchise in NHL history.
