The Canadian team was founded as the Toronto Arenas in 1917 and was renamed the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1927. The franchise is one of two Canadian Original Six teams (along with the Montreal Canadiens) and, with 13 Stanley Cup wins, is the team with the second most Stanley Cup victories after the Canadiens.
